Our founder & head instructor Mark Warburton brings an unmatched passion for Taekwondo to each and every class offered at Sarnia Olympic Taekwondo Academy.

Mark began Taekwondo in 1993 at 12 years old and has been immersed in the sport ever since as not just an athlete, coach & instructor - but forever a student.

Our club was opened in January 2015 with the goal of making everyone who walks into the dojang the best they can be, whether just in life, traditional martial art, or sport.

To this day, he continues to compete in International events around the world and coach athletes to reach their full potential.

  • 6th Dan Black Belt

  • World Taekwondo Level 2 certified international coach

  • NCCP certified

  • 21 years Ontario Team member competing at the Canadian National Championships / Team Trials

  • Competed at Canadian Olympic Division national selection event for 2004, 2008, 2012

  • 3 x US Open gold medalist, 2 x US Open silver medalist, 2 x US Open bronze medalist

  • 2019 World Masters Games - bronze medalist

  • Canadian National Team Trials - bronze medalist

  • British National Championships - silver medalist

  • Presidents Cup - gold medalist

  • Puerto Rico Open - gold medalist

  • Canada Open - bronze medalist

  • Represented Canada at 2008 Commonwealth Championships

  • Coached / Trained athletes to make the national team representing Team Canada at Junior World & Junior Pan-American Championships
